Note from the artist:
"I learned a lesson on tulips from a friend years ago. She said that 'It turns out that tulips can't grow in paradise because it never gets cold enough--there is something in the biochemical process of the builbs that need the cold during winter to grow and flourish.' Isn't that how we are? I wish I could just live in paradise. I get tired of being cold and uncomfortable. But maybe there's growth happening that we cannot see. The cold and bitter time of trial is actuallly necessary for us to grow and flourish. So be patient with your winters."
